After a break from being behind the camera to properly indulge in my own wedding festivities, we had a short break in Portugal. My first time there, I fell in love with the evening light, the vibrancy of life in the towns and the textures in the landscapes. The pace of life is slower, it's also tough to make a living from the land and people work hard to make that possible. Although we were in the Algarve, we visited the coast only once and for just a couple of hours. It's a stunning part of Portugal but the crowds, the bars and the lack of Portuguese culture makes it less appealing for me. We stayed mostly in the hills, the property was remote and we tried to visit typical Portuguese villages when we did head towards civilisation.
